Around one in three of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetimes, either by developing the condition ourselves, or seeing a loved one affected by it.

Our NIHR Clinical Research Centre in Nottingham is at the forefront of early-stage studies to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

The Nottingham CRF is an ideal facility to host this valuable research because of its “unique contribution of infrastructure, academic expertise and clinical excellence,” according to Dr Akram Hosseini, a Consultant Neurologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, who leads clinical trials investigating Alzheimer's disease and other neurological conditions in Nottingham and beyond.
